The Balls System: Scoring Points in Fantasy Basketball on Power League Sport
Welcome to the Balls System page on Power League Sport, where we break down how the scoring system works in our fantasy basketball leagues. Understanding how points are earned and subtracted based on player performance will give you a competitive edge and help you maximize your fantasy basketball strategy.
The Balls System assigns points to players for their real-life performances in NBA games. Every action on the court—whether it’s scoring points, grabbing rebounds, or making defensive plays—affects your fantasy team’s total. Let’s look at how points are awarded and subtracted in more detail.
Points Earned:
Points Scored: +1 point for every 2 points a player scores.
Rebounds: +1 point for each rebound (offensive or defensive).
Assists: +1.5 points for every assist.
Steals: +2 points for every steal.
Blocks: +2 points for each block.
Field Goals Made: +0.5 points for each successful field goal made.
Three-Pointers Made: +1 point for each 3-pointer made.
Free Throws Made: +0.5 points for every successful free throw.
Double-Double: +2 points if a player records a double-double (10+ points and 10+ rebounds or assists).
Triple-Double: +4 points if a player records a triple-double (10+ points, 10+ rebounds, and 10+ assists).
Points Subtracted:
Missed Field Goals: -0.5 points for each missed field goal.
Missed Free Throws: -0.25 points for every missed free throw.
Turnovers: -1 point for each turnover.
Personal Fouls: -0.5 points for each personal foul.
Technical Fouls: -2 points for each technical foul committed.
The Balls System ensures that fantasy basketball rewards players who contribute across the board, whether through scoring, playmaking, or defensive contributions, while penalizing mistakes like turnovers and missed shots. Keep this in mind when drafting your team and making decisions throughout the season!
